Accounting for Good this week made Gold Certified Partner, which means we have reached a high status within the Xero provider network, based on the number of clients we have on Xero, years of experience, and qualifications of our staff.
This means a lot to us. While any kind of Gold is a good status to have (think Olympics, Qantas Club, Cadbury chocolate!), it is an even bigger deal for us as Xero Gold because of our work in the nonprofit space. We have worked in this 'niche' since 1997 because it provides us with tremendously rewarding job satisfaction - great clients and great causes, and we know the accounting and bookkeeping requirements of the sector inside out.
But unlike our commercially-focussed colleagues, we have a smaller 'pool of potential clients. So cracking Gold is really a big deal for us, as we have been striving to make our customer service excellent, our processes efficient, and our reporting so much more meaningful.
Being a Xero certified provider means we can make big improvements in our efficiency, and put downward pressure then on our fees. If our clients are willing to join in the technology processes which Xero allows us to deploy, we want to have conversations with our clients about the impact we can bring to their costs if they are willing to adopt our workflows.
The future of accounting for nonprofits has never been more exciting... and of course there is always Platinum status ahead. :)
